Splitting operator for solving the neutron transport

Abdelkader TIZAOUI

Abstract

The aim of this paper is concerned with the description of an iterative method for the numerical treatment of the neutron transport stationary equation in 1-D spherical geometry. More precisely, we analyze the performance of the splitting method of the collision operator taking into account the caracteristics of the transport operator. The theoretical proof of the convergence and the numerical results of this algorithm are given in this work. Some numerical experiments show that the spliting operator algorithm is more efficient then the classical method (Akesbi, 1989).
