Numerical Computations of Pollutant Transport in the Nador Lagoon

F. Benkhaldoun, S. Daoudi, I. Elmahi, M. Zenasni

Abstract

A numerical algorithm based on a Non Homogeneous Riemann solver is developed to compute contaminant transport in the Nador lagoon. A new formulation of the discretisation of the bed slope source terms is proposed. The scheme is well balanced, can be applied to model flows on complicated geometries using unstrutured meshes and conserves the positivity of the water depth and pollutant concentration. Two test applications for a contamination event in the Nador lagoon are proposed and show the good performance of the algorithm.
