An Internal Migration Model and Estimation of its Parameters

Babulal Seal, Sk Jakir Hossain

Abstract

Markov model for internal migration is used and based on sample data distribution of estimators of parameters is given. Then assuming equal nature of transitions from a state to itself, the estimations of parameters are also given. These are important, as from these estimates one can underastand the importance of those states or places. At the end these are worked out with a real life data.

Keywords

Bayes estimate, James and Stein estimator, Bayesian model averaging, minimax, normal multivariate mean.
