An exponential function to calculate the average length of functionalized MWCNTs
Abstract
The present work aims to explore an exponential function to predict the length of functionalized MWCNTs by various oxidation time and temperature, which is of paramount importance when manufacturin fabricating MWCNTs/PMMA bone cement composite materials. The morphologies of MWCNTs oxidized under various conditions were observed with a scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The length of MWCNTs decreased dramatically when the refluxing time and temperature were increased. Using one-way analysis of variance, the compressive strength and bend strength of the PMMA bone cement by incorporation of 0.6 wt% f-MWCNTs were investigated.
