Dynamically Predicting Reperforation Opportunity for Polymer Flooding

YIN Daiyin, DUAN Yingjiao

Abstract

In order to obtain better oil displacement performance and economic benefit, perforations by step are implemented in early stage of commissioning. Considering heterogeneity, fluid properties, the variations in permeability and effective thickness in the condition of irregular well spacing, a dynamical prediction model which comprehensively uses the front advance theory and material balance equations is established in this paper. The model is applied to verify the main development index of X area in Daqing oilfield and the prediction errors are all within 5 percent. In the meantime, the model is used to quantitatively analyze the influence of the reperforation opportunity on polymer frontal velocity, injection pressure, water content, and recovery percent, based on which a reasonable reperforation opportunity is determined.
