An Inverse Quasi-Static Thermal Stresses in a Thick Annular Disc

Kishor R. Gaikwad, Kirtiwant P. Ghadle

Abstract

In this paper the upper surface of a thick annular disc subjected to an arbitrary known interior temperature under a steady state field is considered. The fixed circular edges is thermally insulated and the temperature of a lower surface disc is kept at zero. The unknown temperature, displacement and thermal stresses on the upper surface of the annular disc is obtained. The Hankel transform is used to solve the governing heat conduction equation with the results are obtained in series form in terms of Bessel’s functions. These have beencomputed numerically and illustrated graphically.
