Calibration-Based Improvements in Estimating the Mean of a Stratified Population with Scrambled Response on Second Call under Non-Response

Manoj K. Chaudhary, Tulika Dutta

Abstract

This paper presents some salient features on the calibration-based improvements in estimating the mean of a stratified population with scrambled response on second call under non-response. We have proposed a new calibration estimator of the population mean under scrambled randomized response method utilizing the information on a single auxiliary variable. The proposed calibration estimator has been pointed out under some existing scrambled response models. We have derived the expression for the MSE of the proposed calibration estimator. We have also discussed the privacy protection measure to get the trade-off between efficiency and privacy protection. A simulation study has been carried out to depict the performance of the proposed calibration estimator.
