Gradual Covering Problems and Approach based on service quality with stochastic demand

Zongxiang Zhang, Chao Yang, Hui Liu

Abstract

Classical covering problems, as a class of the most useful models in facility location problems, have important research value. But there still have an unrealistic theoretical assumption in many potential applications when considering the coverage radius. In this paper, we consider the gradual coverage problems in the broad perspective. Considering customer satisfaction and service quality, we modify the existing current models more applicable in practice under the description of the stochastic gradual covering function. Taking into account different service standards and fairness, a new model based on the level of service quality are proposed. We also solve this model with Lagrangian relaxation algorithm. Computational results illustrated the effectiveness of the solution.
