Explanation of Physical and Socio-Economic Changes in Annexed Rural Settlements of Urban Periphery : A Case Study
The process of spatial development of cities and gobbling, annexation and dissolving the periphery village in them, especially in metropolises, has been a new issue that has come into view after the Islamic revolution. Mashhad as the second metropolis in Iran has had a leapfrog development in population increase and physical development. It has integrated a large number of periphery villages in itself and has caused complicated problems in these edges and fringes. The present study has been applied, and its approach is descriptive-analytic that has used the instrument of spatial analysis in order to recognize the process of genesis and change in metropolitan regions and consider the causes of haring no fluency in structure and function of these settlements. Data has been collected by a questionnaire and after coding and transferring to SPSS software has been analyzed. The research findings based on statistics analysis have shown that sectional management taking root in intensive management, caused interruption in running Mashhad fringes. The increasing of inadmissible constructions without stability especially in the North West of Mashhad has been another issue that has enhanced the immethodical development and occupations of fringe rural settlements. After all the physical bases and social and economic conditions of annexed areas in urban periphery is undesired and the structure and function of these settlements doesn’t have unnecessary fluency and coordination.
