Sustainable Development through Social Learning?

State regulation is faced with numerous difficulties in effectively developing and implementing sustainable development. Long-term perspectives, uncertainties and resistance to command-andcontrol measures require a different approach that leaves room for self-organisation and learning by individuals and groups. Therefore, social learning is discussed in this paper as an approach to promote key objectives of sustainable development.
