An Improved Estimation Procedure Using Transformed Auxiliary Variable in Two-Occasions Successive Sampling

G. N. Singh, Mohd Khalid, A. K. Singh

Abstract

This paper presents a ratio cum-regression type estimation strategy for current population mean in two-occasion successive sampling. Properties and optimum replacement strategy of the proposed estimator have been discussed. Empirical studies are carried out to show the dominance of suggested estimator over sample mean estimator and natural successive sampling estimator. Results have been analyzed and recommendations are made to the survey practitioners.

Keywords
