An Efficient Exponential Ratio-type Estimator in Post-Stratification Using Variable Transformation

K. B. Panda, N. Sahoo

Abstract

Following Tailor and Tailor [11], we propose an exponential ratio-type estimator in post-stratified sampling using variable transformation. The proposed estimator, under certain conditions are shown to be more efficient than some existing estimators, including the usual post-stratified estimator, separate ratio-type estimator for estimating the population mean of the variable under study variable in case of post-stratification, usual dual to separate ratio-type estimator in case of post-stratification, Chouhan [2] and Lone and Tailor [4]. The efficiency of the proposed estimator has also shown through numerical illustrations.
