Improved Predictive Functional Control for Induction Motor Drive System

Fang Xie, Qun-jing Wang

Abstract

Based on disturbance observer theory, combing the characteristic of predictive functional control, a new control strategy is proposed for rotor flux field-oriented vector control system and the PFC based on DOB controller suited for the induction motor is designed. The new control can improve tracking performance and reduce the prediction error in PFC and cope with high-order disturbances. Also, the SVPWM control strategy is used to realize high-efficient control scheme. The proposed control scheme is experimentally validated on a three-phase induction motor drive system controlled by Applied Dynamics International (ADI) and is compared with the tradition PI. The experimental results prove the effectiveness of the proposed approach which can greatly improve dynamic response characteristics and strengthening the robustness of the control system.
