Fast Parameter Accumulation based Circle Detection of RHT
Abstract
Considering that RHT circle detection requires considerable time, we thus propose a new circle detection method which can optimize the process of parameter accumulation. This method clarify that parameter accumulation is not required if the circle parameters defined by three random points meet the requirement that the circle center is not in the image, or the radius of the circle is longer than the shorter side length of the image. In this case, the parameter of the circle can be regarded directly as a false one, which can improve the speed of detection. Quite a number of experiments on synthetic images and realistic images have shown that, compared with RHT, the method proposed in this paper not only comes with a higher speed but also decreases the memory requirements.
