Simulation Model Based on Agent Technology for Ship Passenger Evacuation

Feng Li, Duanfeng Han

Abstract

The paper outlines a passenger evacuation simulation model based on agent technology. The evacuation simulation model is composed of ship environment sub-model, agent attribute sub-model and agent behavior decision sub-model. This paper defines environmental sequence, agent attribute sequence and behavior sequence of evacuation individuals, and establishes the functions respectively. Then, based on the mentioned evacuation model, an evacuation simulation system is developed. The system simulates the process of path selection in different ship heeling angles, and calculates the overall evacuation time cost. Besides, it is discussed how ship heeling angles have effect on path selection and overall evacuation time cost. Compared with the results calculated from MSC.1 or Circ.1238, the ship evacuation process can be simulated well by evacuation
simulation system built in this study, and evacuation time cost calculated by this model
accord with reality.
