Numerical Simulation of Power Loss of Bearings in Minicar Drive Axle

Wangping Wang, Yimin Mo, Chaoyin Liu, Tingzhi Chen

Abstract

Bearing is one of the important components in the car drive axle, power loss of it directly affects the transmission efficiency of drive axle. Through studying car drive axle structure, mechanical analysis of bearings in a certain minicar drive axle are conducted, and equivalent load of them are obtained. The theoretical models of power loss of bearings are established on the basis of friction torque formula of bearing given by Harris TA, and the models are calculated by using the program Simulink. The Simulation results show that the models can give the influence factors of the friction power loss, and they provide theoretical basis for the selection and assembly of car drive axle bearing.

Keywords
