Analysis of Tactics in Badminton Doubles Match based on Association Rules and Data Mining

Abstract


Data mining is an effective means to gain significant knowledge and information from mass data. The association rule is one of the important techniques to be studied and widely applied knowledge-based data mining. As data acquisition means in athletic contests and the grades of Chinese men's badminton doubles improve continuously, the application of association rules and data mining to gain further information beneficial to China’s men's badminton doubles from mass sport data has become an explorative problem. Based on association rules and data mining, this paper applies world championship data from 2004 to 2008 to analyze the relevance of the indexes related to the return of serve in the tactics of men's badminton doubles and acquires certain association rule achievement. The results show: the serve quality in men's badminton doubles is very important; the effects of the first three strikes are related to the grade; the point of fall and strength during serving the ball should be varied.
