Abstract
This paper focused on a special research on the division of tectonic stages, with a case study from the Hongshiite copper deposit, Hami, Xinjiang. On the basis of collection, summary and analysis of previous information, the authors carried out an in-deep study on geomechanical prosperities of fault structural surfaces in accessible underground works. Four major fault zones in the deposit area were taken as the objective of this paper, and their change of mechanical properties, rock-controlling and ore-controlling structures, post-mineralization structures, tectonic stress field in various stages, etc. were theoretically analyzed and summarized; The results show that the nearly EW-NWW striking faults as basement structures were formed at the earliest and are main rock-controlling and ore-controlling structures in the deposit area; NW striking faults were formed at the latest and are ore-breaking structures. The division of regional tectonic stress shows that the deposit area underwent four regional tectonic stress actions, i.e., NNE tensional stress, EW tensional stress, a pair of sinistral NS horizontal shearingstress and a pair of NNE horizontal shearingstress, and a pair of dextral NS horizontal shearingstressand EW tensional stress.
Keywords
