Empirical Analysis of Regional Development Level Based on DEA Model

Zhijun YANG

The development level of science and technology(S and T) is an important part of the regional evaluation. Previous studies mostly analyze the efficiency with static data, lacking overall evaluation research based on data of many years continuously. This paper establishes an evaluation index system based on the data from 2001 to 2010, and calculates the aggregate amount and average growth rate of each index, and then we get four development levels of regional S and T under the influence of absolute value after multiple sorting, classifying and quantifying. Next, after the combined action of absolute value and efficiency, the clustering result can be obtained through adjusting the four levels by DEA analysis. In the end, we analyze the reasons and countermeasures, which enrich relevant theories about development level of regional S and T.
