Influence Factors for the Productivity of Fractured Sandstone Gas Reservoirs

Jiang Shan, Chen Peng

Abstract

The sandstone formation of Kuqa continental foreland basin in Tarim Oilfield has developed a large number of fractures. The fracture is not only the main flow path for fluid in fractured sandstone gas reservoir, it also controlled the productivity level of the gas wells. To exploit the tight sandstone, studying the effect of fracture on permeability and skin factor is one of the main directions. Establishing the fracture contribution rate reflect the contribution of sandstone on productivity. The research on fracture contribution rate of fractured sandstone of Kuqa continental foreland basin in Tarim Oilfield embodies that the formation contribution rate of most wells has reached more than 70%. Obtaining fracture parameters through image logging, and obtaining permeability and skin factor through test interpretation result. Statistically analyze the relationship of fracture parameters, permeability and skin factor to establish a quantitative relationship of them. The study isofgreatsignificance to promote China's fractured sandstone gas reservoir exploration and development.
