The Spatio-temporal Evolution of Population Distribution in Xinjiang, China

Abstract


In this paper, we created a population differentiation index, counted the population and its prooortion of clustering areas of Han Nationality and Minority of 3 key years and stutied the population distribution differentiation between Han Nationality and Minority. Our research indicate that there is population distribution differentiation between Han Nationality and Minority and the degree of population distribution differentiation has been increasing since 1949. The population distribution differentiation was very small in 1949, the population distribution differentiation was rather big in 2008.
