Parameter Estimation of the Half-Triangle Distribution based on Progressively Type I Interval Censored Data

Abstract



This paper investigates statistical inferences of a scale parameter of the half-triangle distribution based on progressively Type I interval censored samples. Because the solution to a likelihood equation for a scale parameter has no closed form, the Taylor series expansion method is used to obtain closed form estimators. Estimators are obtained using the approximate maximum likelihood method, the method of moments, and the probability plot method. The performance of proposed estimators is compared in terms of the mean
square error and bias for various censored samples.
