Child Survival and Reproductive Behaviour In a Developing Society

The main objective of this paper is to examine empirically the impact of child survival on households’ reproductive behaviour. The sample survey was conducted on the tribal population of Garhwal and Kumaon region of Uttaranchal state of India. The tribes taken under study were Jaunsari and Buksa tribe of Garhwal region and the Tharu tribe of the Kumaon region. The main tool of the analysis is multiple regression.
