Economic Growth and Environmental Performance: Correlation Issues and Future Priorities
Abstract
Based on the correlation of economic dynamics indicators and the Environmental Performance Index, subject to economic growth rates, material welfare and geographic localization of contemporary world countries, the paper analyzes the major trends of interaction between environmental assiduity and economic rationality in light of the need to tackle the modern challenges of world ecosystem development and global economy. The author provides insights into the essence of the core dilemma of further environmental and economic progress and suggests a model for stabilization and efficient environmental management in the countries of the lower level of the global competitiveness pyramid.
