Housing policy in Russia: are the targets achievable?

Abstract



The paper looks into the goals and objectives of the housing policy in Russia and strategic directions for its development. It justifies the topicality of more efficient interaction between housing policy bodies at different levels and integrated assessment of the housing stock condition in the country’s regions. As a result of the research, the authors suggest the tools for assessment the housing policy, estimate the contemporary housing policy from the standpoint of achievability of the targets and objectives, stipulated in the concept of long-term socioeconomic development of the country, and formulate recommendations for improving the process of working out and implementation of the housing policy in Russia.
