Dynamical Response of an Eco-epidemiological Model System

Shambo Shekhar Ghosh, Santabrata Chakravarty

Abstract

The present article deals with the dynamical response of an eco-epidemiological model system consisting of the prey and the predator species having disease in the prey population. The inclusion of a prey refuge has also been taken into account for updating the model to move one step ahead of the real situation. The entire prey population has been classified into two groups -- one is sound or healthy prey and other is infected prey. The susceptible sound prey is assumed to be capable of reproducing following the logistic law while the infected prey is removed by death or by predation before having the possibility of reproducing. The dynamical responses in terms of boundedness, the local and global stability analyses including Kolmogorov analysis are studied at large. Numerical simulations are performed at the end in order to exhibit the dynamical behaviour of the present system for the occurrence of limit cycle and bifurcation based on the analytical results and the choice of data involved in it.
